The River Flows As You

Writer's picture: Grant ByronGrant Byron

The consequential perspective and idea that just as we may recognise the importance of allowing a river to flow. We can also let ourselves flow, release control, and thereby let in what is better for us, self, and others.

The feeling of it.

This feeling is always inside. Yes, go to the river, feel its pull. Let it bathe over, and through, you. Yet, child, remember always, the river is you.

Sometimes, though, one needs to get out of the river. Go to the job. Do the chore.Wash the dishes.

These are the times the river is most important, to keep it alive, to recognise its motions.

Allowing these to be present and a complete part of this path.

How?

Well.

How does a river flow?

The river asks not how to flow. It flows and in turn allows natural intelligence, nature, to arrive and guide it. The volume of water that needs to move determines the path it cuts, and the way it shapes the land.

In turn, it will determine how the land will be shaped.

Cutting a path through the solidness of life, it provides space for others to flow as well.

A worn path to follow.

How to bring this flow to life?

The key is transforming busyness, into business, the distinction being vision.

The easiest way to do this is in service.

Service in turn is built on the foundation of presence, vision, and a can-do attitude. All of these work together to provide the opportunity for a realisation to occur. The realisation spoken of here is one that serves as a catalyst to a great flow. Flow is itself syntropic, creating greater levels of organisation and efficiency as it is adhered to.

Presence: Start in the here and now.

Vision: What does the ideal look and feel like?

Can-Do Attitude: Know you are wholly capable.

The point of a river:

  • All rivers either lead to a bigger body of water, or cease to be. Surrendering to flow allows you to connect with the greater awareness, or determines that route to be dead.

  • The key in this is to allow flow for flow's sake, as only through this path, will it ultimately lead to realisation of the greater organisation.

  • Complete release into the process allows for the ultimate uncovering and awakening of truth, but only when for the process.

Letting the river flow:

Now what may seem like a wholly creative act, is oftentimes the most logical.

Yet, similarly, we may at times benefit from a more logical approach.

Learning how to know which to apply is an important step.

Learning when to apply each is crucial.

By determining a “Menu” of these, serving as a guide, you have a tool to determine a thread to start with, and then you realize if it is the correct thread.

Starting leads to ending:

All things that rise, must at some point, fall.

So act with gratitude for this. Keenly present in the process of life flowing through you. Let yourself be wholly absorbed in that process.

Become it.

Get lost in it. Until it is time to be found again.

This is a practice, a practical step experience of absorption, into and with, the task.

Whatever it is. No matter how distracted you may feel, you are simply encountering blockages, like a dam causing a limit in flow.

Yet sooner or later, all dams break or are circumnavigated. So be wholly there testing out the bounds, relentless in your isness.

This isness is a mark to the world that you are. That you hold the space of a container, but ultimately are uncontainable.

The practice of moving more effortlessly like this is the goal. So too it is never-ending and always expanding, moving more deeply and wholly into all space available, until more is available, or the route dries up.

Sometimes these dam-ups happen for a reason, a season, or a lifetime(Ocean).

Letting go of doubts:

A key throughout this process is that doubts will arise.

Am I going the right way?

What would the right way feel like?

Tick box: Feelings….

Hyper process: Prime your body, activate the feeling, move into the state, accelerate, and ground.

Am I grounded correctly?

How would being grounded and whole feel?

Tick Box: Feelings….

Hyper Process

Why is there resistance?

What would it feel like flowing freely?

Tickbox: Feelings….

With each point opposite another point, it provides a balance or relation. Furthermore, we have the central points, which provide an axis, upon which all points can spin.

Integrating this begins by acknowledging your state, and thereafter implementing the smallest level of conscious change, thereafter beginning to support that change as it takes effect.

How to upload, run, and maintain this as the primary directive?

Apply it to your life, with great excitement, gusto, and determination to maintain it till long after any change has taken effect.

Like a river bursting its bank/channel. The energy of your new directive needs to be greater than the current one.

Sustained?

For how long?

We are cutting a new river bed, which may happen instantly, if conditions are favourable for an instant shift, or may take quite a while to initially shift, but then be likely to remain in that shifted state. However, if you earnestly wish to shift, like a river adjusting to shifts in the landscape, you will ultimately make it, as long as there is a sufficient flow of water, over a sufficient length of time.

Consistently apply pressure, allowing it to become the new default.

How do you know that you are on your Path? -because it disappears. You are going into the unknown which is called growth and sometimes the only single source of strength you can rely on is your faith. - “David Whyte”

So as you flow and it becomes the new natural, the distinction disappears. Presenting the most important time to remain steadfast in the process.

Digging deep is just that, the opportunity to step and live more completely into the new reality. This co-creation, recognising these obstacles as the path allows for the practice of coming back into more complete alignment.

Like Gym for your vibration.

Point of focus?

The vision is actualized, it now just comes to maintaining the new and correct path. Remaining resolute at appearances of faltering and trusting the reorganising principle to flow forth as you change in the river of life.

Changing in the rivers of life

The process of unfolding to life has two parts.

  1. Recognising where tension is

  2. Releasing said tension

Recognising the too big river bed, for the now smaller river.

Re-orienting to a size that is conducive to long-term flow.

Initially, these breaking back into better ways occurs in small unfoldings, in ways that orient us back into the formless form. They are sealed and part of our practice of folding in on ourselves. Becoming more completely connected to our experience. Looking out of our own way, and back to what is our best way.

This is, perhaps, the easiest and most difficult part and experience of this whole practice. The white whale of the river. As all doubts, parts, and present pieces that sit in the unconscious and subconscious arise and begin to wail.

Face them head-on, finding the narrow path through.

This narrow path is in flow.

However, it is more keenly aware of the whole process, rather than just, the moments' arisings.

So to begin as a part of this flow, recognise your already present flow, the one connected to your vision, walk, travel, run, leap, move along this, for sooner than later you wind it end.

Or reach the ocean.

How does a river know it has joined the ocean?

It flows differently.
